The industry uses mostly large cowhides tanned with chromium, that are durable and suitable for covering large objects. Using real leather leads you to more durable results than using imitation leather or alcantara.

Ultimately though, choosing the right leather is all about your personal taste. Usually, cars that are dark on the outside, need textiles using soft colors on the inside.
